Working on my Easter Egg Swap...

First off though, I thought I'd share a bit of Spring with these daffodils I bought to cheer up my kitchen...

I'm working to finish up my Easter Eggs for the Artrageous AfternoonEgg Garland Swap!

And on this next one I used vintage millinery flowers...

And this one is from a vintage Easter card from when I was little, so cute!

Would you drive four hours to shop?

I would! My daughter Megan and I took a two day getaway to San Marcos, TX to shop at San Marcos Prime Outlets, times two! It is double the size of an average outlet, maybe even bigger than that, so to us it was worth the trip! Plus it was a last chance for mommy-to-be Megan to get away before the baby comes in about three weeks. We even enjoyed a couple nights in a local Bed and Breakfast Crystal River Innwhich made the trip extra special for us both!
Here's why maybe you too would drive four hours to shop!

What a Sweet Swap!

I received my wonderful swap gifts in the mail yesterday...

It was wrapped up so pretty with wonderful details...

And there were pretty dishtowels...

Here's my swap details...

I wanted to share with you what I made for my most recent swap...

An embroidery towel with a French flair. I bought the birdie design from this Etsy site DB Embroidery Designs

I began with this wonderful wooden tray...

I took a linen tablecloth and stitched French phrases around each side...

And I added a medallion in the middle.

And finished off with this gorgeous vintage necklace!

Here's the total swap! It was so much fun to stitch and put together! Suzie

AND IT GOT ME THINKING HOW WONDERFUL IT WAS TO HEAR SUCH AN UPLIFTING STORY AMONGST ALL THE DOOM AND GLOOM ON THE NEWS NOWADAYS! ( WE ALL KNOW WHERE THE DOOM AND GLOOM COMES FROM, RIGHT?! THE DREADED "R" WORD!)
ONE FARMER DONATED SIX COWS...

ANOTHER FARMER HAD DONATED A GOAT AND IT SOLD FOR $100, WAS REDONATED, AND SOLD AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES,FINALLY RAISING ABOUT $2,000!
SO, I SAY THANK YOU TO OUR FARMERS, AND TO SUCH GENEROSITY AND CARING!

THIS ALSO HAD ME THINKING ABOUT BLOGS THAT HAVE FARMING MOMS THAT SHARE WONDERFUL IDEAS AND CRAFTS FOR US!

ONE I RECENTLY CAME UPON WAS A GOAT FARMER, PATTY, IN SUPERIOR, MONTANA, WHO HAS AN ETSY SITE Happy Goats Soap. I COULDN'T RESIST BUYING SEVERAL OF HER SOAPS, AND THEY CAME IN TODAY, AND THEY'RE SO SILKY AND SMELL YUMMY AND ARE SO CUTE! I HATE TO USE THEM AND MESS THEM UP! YOU SHOULD VISIT HER BLOG TOO AT PRICILLA SPEAKS

I love Tutus, you too?!

I am not sure when tutu's became the epitome of CUTE, but tutu's are at the top of my list! Especially with only a month until my first grandchild, a girl, is due to be born! I've been trolling on Etsy looking for just the right one to purchase for those adorable newborn pictures, you know the ones, with the flower headband and the tutu showcasing an adorable sleeping ballerina baby!
This tutu pictured is just so beautiful! And the instructions for making your own is on Martha Stewart's website in video form!!
I just might have to tackle one of these when I catch up on my sewing!
