Hi, Friends, Just wanted to add this little slideshow of inspiration...

Going on over at Inspire Me!
There is a live chat on a gorgeous snowflake in a couple minutes, but Suzie Button has to work and can't join in, but wow, there's a lot of talent out there!

Weight Loss Wednesday?!

Hi, Friends! Welcome to another week of Weight Loss Wednesday

What, you say, does the Queen's crown have to do with weight loss?
Well, I thought we might all just need a reminder of the Queen we are no matter what size we are, that's all!
We all deserve to wear the crown, made in the 1600's, weighing more than two pounds, encrusted with more than 3,000 gems!
We're all beautiful whether we're size 24 or 4!

Rain!

Hi, Friends, Have you had the pleasure yet of reading..

I really enjoyed it! It's so well written, you just fall right into the story and can't let go! The author is Jeannette Walls, author of "The Glass Castle" and like that book, this book is based on her family history and her Grandmother specifically.
I thought I'd share one paragraph that talks about what it was like to experience rain after a long drought...
"To live in a place where water was so scarce made the rare moments like this - when the heavens poured forth an abundance of water and the hard earth softened and turned lush and green - seem magical, almost miraculous. The kids had an irresistible urge to get out and dance in the rain, and I always let them go and sometimes joined them myself, all of us prancing around, arms upraised, as the water beat down on our faces, plastering our hair and soaking our clothes."

Doesn't that just create an image in your mind of pure joy to relieve the daily struggles that they must have been experiencing?!
This book, in my ratings anyway, gets FIVE stars out of FIVE! You really should read it!

Silver Christmas!

Hi, Friends! I attended the 'Neath the Wreath craft show this past Friday and I SQUEALED when I came upon the booth from the store Smitten
Oh, shabby elegance abounded! FABULOUS mirrors! Beautiful subtle colorings!
I bought this gorgeous garland and wanted to share it with you!
Here's a couple close ups...

Isn't it beautiful? That's vintage silvery seam binding...

And gorgeous silver glittery birds on each side!

Here it is adorning my Bloomer girl collection!
I examined how it was made, and I'm in the process of trying to gather elements to make another one, well, for ME since this one I promised my daughter Megan she could have for Christmas. She's a bit spoiled, you see!

It's the Holidays & Pink Saturday!

What a wonderful combination, don't you agree, Pink (Saturday) and the Holiday Season! So we need to have a PINK...

We don't need a lot of fancy supplies, and the directions can be simple, such as making this momento memory box for a mother or a grandmother, wouldn't it be lovely?!

You probably have all these supplies in your scrapbook drawer right now!

I am an old-fashioned soul at heart, I never tire of the beauty of the floral hankie look, it's just so beautiful! And this would be a special gift for any vintage soul!
And I've wanted to make this for over a YEAR, and am still in love with it! You can see this really would be simple to construct!

We're NOT finished crafting on this PINK Saturday, friends, but I want to give thanks and credit for the above crafty ideas where it's due...

Oh, no there's more beauties to craft today...
I love this sweet angel doll!

This little sweet fabric frame would be wonderful with a print inside, maybe even add a touch of glitter to set it off!

I know a little girl in my life that would LOVE this soft PINK crown!

And wouldn't these be wonderful on Christmas morning?!
Again, thanks for your beautiful inspiration...

We can't end our craft day without a little bit of sweets, could we?!

And these BEAUTIES fit right into the plan of having FUN!
And a bucket full of sweet cookies! Well, you shouldn't have.

I really should have this angel food cake, I am on a diet, after all!

THANKS...

And thank you to our lovely PINK host Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
and Happy Pink Saturday!

Diving into Christmas!

Oh, YES, it IS Friday! MY DAY OFF! I can get GIDDY when I have a day off, ESPECIALLY when this time of year when there are glorious Christmas craft fairs and shows I can attend!
Today I'm off with my daughter and grandbaby to here...

Oh, FUN, Christmas craft and gift FUN!!
This show will most likely be fabulous, but probably a bit overpriced, I bet. That's ok though! I get lots of ideas from just looking also, and don't we just LOVE craft shows because we're with "our people" in "our land", right? You know, crafty souls all around, the music, the candle scents, the companionship of other women?!
My favorite type of craft show still remains though the church craft festivals. I think it's because I have strong memories of my little church in the country growing up and being at and participating in the annual Country Fair each year. Wonderful memories!
I hope you have a wonderful Friday too! Thanks also for all the suggestions on the curtains and the lovely comments on my new paint color! I agree, I like the Country Curtains the most and it needs to be consistent. More on the redo's on a posting soon!

New Paint Color = New Outlook!

Hi, Friends! I have a new outlook on life, well, at least as far as inside my home!
That's what a new fresh color scheme can do for you! I wanted to share my before/after photos with you, even though the room isn't completed totally yet...
Here's my family room before...

Of course, this is as the room was prepared for painting by my son Ben!
And here's the kitchen before...

(please ignore the vacuum and other items! This is reality, friends!)
I chose gold/brown/yellow tones in my choice... The family room now has an accent wall in the same color as the kitchen to tie them together, which I love!

And here's the kitchen again... I love the warmth of the honey brown!

As you may have noticed, I don't have window treatments back up, and that's because I want to change those out too! I've been looking online and I'm thinking I really like these from Country Curtain what do you think?
And my daughter found these at Half Price Drapes and what a great price.
I'd love your input too!

Ouija!

Happy Wednesday to you! I hope your Wednesday is going well! I'm doing great, just working and spending a little time with the daughters and Grandbaby in between captioning!
I thought I'd share with you today my idea of a mouse pad....

It's kind of fun and works perfectly! I've kind of always been a bit leery of Ouija Boards, but I've decided that I like it not for the seance game it's played for, but for the vintage look and the gorgeous lettering, so that's what I focus on!
Happy Veterans Day!

Cards of Love & Happiness!

Hi, Friends! I shared recently my altered cabinet cards and just how much fun they were to create.
Well, it got me to thinking of how a cabinet card of my Granddaughter would be a special little project to create, and here's the results!

I also had to make one for my daughter to keep too, and I just love this black and white photo of Madison, so I made another one for her...

And because we all need a little color in our lives, and because I was just having so much fun, I made a couple more!

And our little Christmas baby pose ( I STILL cannot believe she slept through these shots!)

These pictures were taken on my favorite piece of furniture I own, my hutch, where I have my vintage bride and groom cake topper collection! My son painted the room for me last week and I'm moving things around and trying to get it all put away and so I had to clean out and bring back in my collection today and it made me remember just why I love them so much, so I thought I'd share just a couple shots of my collection with you too!

I made this wedding cake out of paper mache boxes, scrapbook paper, and stenciled with Texture Magic, loved doing this project, it's just like icing!

Here is a set I found on ebay that I just went to the moon over when it arrived, and I think you can see why!

There's more, well, lots more, I tend to go overboard (my daughter Megan says so at least) but I'll stop there for today! Next post, hopefully I will have my room back together and can show you the before/after pictures of painting! It' SO much better now! Next is the bedroom, but my son Ben wants a break before he starts another huge job! I hope you're having a wonderful week!

The Seasons are here this Pink Saturday!

Hi, Friends! Happy Pink Saturday to you and thanks, as usual, to our lovely host Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
There's no stopping the coming holiday season once all the magazines hit the stands! I'm a magazine addict, much less Christmas magazines! You too?!! I knew I wasn't alone!
One of my (OUR) favorites at Christmas is...

I have collected, followed and LOVED Gooseberry Patch for years!
These cookies are GOOD!
I remember these from cafeteria lunches in school, do you?!

We need to gather our thoughts with a pot of tea, I suggest, and a delicious cookie (or two!)

Sometimes cookies show up even in unexpected spots!

Open the door wide and embrace the season!

Fill your hearts with...

Craft with Love for Friends and Family...
