I love mirrors crafting

I saw this simple vintage mirror at a local antiques store, you know the kind of mirror, those hospital pull out mirrors, and I thought, hmm, for $2.50, I can maybe craft this into something a little more attractive! So I went to the beautiful blue spray paint can and that made it instantly spark! And then I used some of my crepe ribbon to bring it all together and added a sweet little girl image to set it off. I think it turned out so adorable! And it cheers up my office.

Sweet Friends!

Last week my friends and I were able to finally get together and we celebrated my recent birthday! Below are the gifts they gave me. My crafty friend Gail made me the top picture, it's so beautiful! I just love it!
And my other crafty and sweet friend Maria got me this gorgeous picture we found at the local antique store in McKinney, TX! It's so me, and is so lovely on my family room wall.

This is the BEST German chocolate cake you'll ever taste! I found this years ago in a Gooseberry Patch Holiday Edition craft/cookbook and I always get RAVE reviews on it!

The recipe...

Gather all your ingredients...

Make the cake batter...1 White cake mix, one 5.9 ounce INSTANT chocolate pudding, add 3 egg WHITES, 1 C. water and 1 C. milk and mix well...

This batter is so light and fluffy! Fantastic!

Divide the batter between two round cake pans...And bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes...

Make the Icing...Its 2/3 C. butter, 1 1/3 C. sugar, 4 egg YOLKS, and 1 1/3 C. EVAPORATED milk....

when the mixture starts to boil, stir CONTINUOUSLY for 12 minutes... I know it's a pain!

Add 1 1/3 cups coconut and 1 1/3 C. pecans and 1.5 tsp. vanilla

Let the layers cool and then icing the cake...
