Twyla's Sweet Halloween Gifts!

Twyla from http://www.twocrazycrafters.blogspot.com/ was my Halloween Swap partner, and I was so thrilled when I opened her box! Whow! First there were the beautiful (knitted, crocheted?) pumpkins, SO wonderful, I think I had spied these on her blog talking about her craftiness a while back, and I remember thinking, I wish I knew how to make those, but, alas, I forget how to knit AND crochet, it's been so long, and I've never known how to do something in the round. I need a class!
And then she also made me the adorable slippers, which I immediately put on my tootsies to make them cozy and in the mood for the rest of the surprise, well, look how cute is that Pumpkin twirler stick?!! SO CUTE! And she made me cup coasters, which I thought were potholders, but either use is grand! And the pretty wreath adorning my door for the season! Thanks, Twyla! You're a sweetie! Suzie Button

My Halloween Swap with Carrie!

I really was thrilled to see all the goodies in my Halloween swap box from Carrie, everything was so CUTE! There were this fantastic cookie cutter kit, a depression teacup, and a cute little decopauged box and a pumpkin container that I'm using in my office to hold my TV remotes, plus a little Punkin'head pipe cleaner man that sits on my storage tray for extras in the office. Thanks, Carrie! You are sweet! Suzie

Wizard of Oz Swap!

The Wizard of Oz Swap was my very first swap I've participated in! I had a lot of fun coming up with an idea for the theme, I just knew that I love aprons, and this popped in my head. I decided to combine my love of sewing with the talents of my embroidery machine and came up with this. I stitched across the apron ties "Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times and think to yourself there's no place like home." I love the way it turned out! Victoria from Vintage Tea at www.vintagetea.blogspot.com was my swap partner. She's emailed me and said she'll have a picture of her in the apron at her blog, I can't wait to see! I put it in a little "Dorothy" basket and added a ruffle and sent it off to Victoria.
I can't wait to see what I get from Victoria! She's sweet! Suzie
P.S. Thanks to Sherry from If I could set my soul free for hosting such a fun swap! Sherry IS a lot of fun, actually! Smiles and Hugs....

Halloween Swaps!

Since both girls should have received their items now, I thought I'd post what I had been working on for the past several weeks for the two Halloween swaps I was involved in...the first pic is a Moulin Rouge type of feel wreath, and then I used my embroidery machine to stitch personalized dish towels, I made a container cute and added some crepe paper garland and then some candy goodies and candles and such! This was a lot of fun! Thanks to the bloggers -- Amy from Four Sisters in a cottage and Heidi at Foxgloves, Fabric and Folly for hosting the fun events! I will post what they send when it arrives. I can't wait! Suzie
P.S. I am going to have a GIVEAWAY to celebrate Fall and all the fun of Halloween beginning on Thursday, come back then to see what you can win! Suzie Button

Happy First Day of Autumn!

In celebration of today being the first official day for Fall, I thought I'd share a few autumn scenes from the "Ideals" Thanksgiving issue. I had time this morning to stop over at my local Half Price Books and saw this Ideals magazine and knew it was perfect to celebrate the transition from summer into Fall. I live in Texas now, and Fall is very fleeting, but I have wonderful memories of growing up in Maryland and the Fall day trips my sisters and my Mom would take me on to the Shendandoah National Park and Skyline Drive through Maryland and Virginia. That's where I came to love and crave Autumn! The leaves were so glorious and the play of light and shadow around us as we drove for the day through the mountains! These pictures took me back today to those warm memorable days! Happy Autumn! Suzie
