Love Pink Saturday!

Don't we all just L-O-V-E Pink Saturdays?
I know I enjoy them!
Valentine's Day is all about the food, the crafts, flowers and Love, isn't it? So here's a bit to get your Valentine's Day plans moving forward!
First, the FOOD! We all need a great meal, and here is a menu I found that I'd enjoy and I thought you would too!
I found a great new foodie website Good to Know but the problem is that it's a U.K. site and the recipes need converted if you're, for instance, in the U.S. so here is a website if you need to convert Diana's Desserts Conversion Chart
Let's begin then, shall we, lovely friends?
Let's start with making appetizer sized Chilli Crab Cakes I've always ADORED crab cakes!

Next we can go to our delicious Avocado Pesto Spaghetti YUM!
You might enjoy a Shirley Temple Valentine Drink, I really don't care for alcohol, and this is pretty...
And quickly move to a choice of desserts!
After all that is what Valetine's is all about, right?! YES!

How about some beautiful RED strawberries and a Strawberry Fondue
Or a healthy choice Strawberry Yogurt Cheesecake
So pretty...
OH MY GOSH!

Now for the craft!
This  gorgeous Modern Chic Lampshade you could create for YOU and show some LOVE to yourself! You deserve it!
I know my daughter will want this!

Now we're getting to the end of a lovely day with my flowers to you...
roses sparkle Pictures, Images and Photos
And last, but not least, My Glittery heart in a box Pictures, Images and Photos LOVE for you, my Pink Saturday Friends!

Just a little more heart...

I can't get enough of Valentine's Day! You too? I have a bit more decorating I've done to share with you.
I love to make inexpensive crafts and this dollar store frame was the key to this. Just add a cute Valentine and some vintage buttons and, well, GLITTER, and it's so sweet!

And another dime store frame, just perfect for this little Valentine..

I love a cute teapot, and just adding a little of this n' that cheered it up for the LOVE day...

It's almost February, friends! Do you feel the warmth of my love?!

Modern Day Heart

I love the organic feel of using simple products to make gorgeous results. So, then, was this heart ornament.
There's a rhythm to sitting down to cut strips...

And it is so enjoyable to only need paper and double-stick tape to create beautiful single little hearts...
One step at a time

First one little heart...

And then four...

And then one sweet modern-day heart!

Simple, organic, Perfect!

Retro Sweetness & Accept the Challenge!

Hi, friends! Just the other day, I found this website One Million Pillowcases and read about the challenge which stated...
Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.

To participate, find a shop hosting One Million Pillowcase Challenge events in your area. Once your pillowcases are complete and donated locally, log on below to enter how many pillowcases you made. Help us reach our goal of ONE MILLION Pillowcases.
What a great idea, a chance to meet other women who enjoy your hobby of sewing and making a difference at the same time!
I quickly looked up the link to my state in Texas and found it linked to this local shop in Garland, TX that I had never known was there! A BONUS!!

And there's a blog too called Ruby Jane's Retro Fabric DOUBLE BONUS!
I ran over today to check out this sweet store and met the owner, Barbara, such a sweet lady!
Her store is hosting a weekend of sewing pillowcases for this challenge and you can read more about it HERE
Her shop is so sweet! This was at the window to greet you..

and the shelves were stocked full of sweet fabrics! OHHHHH!

The retro theme was carried throughout the shop with cute vignettes, so many to photograph!
Tables with adorable vintage style trims...

Boxes stuffed with fat quarters and jelly rolls, oh, imagine the possibilites!

Aprons, aprons everywhere! To buy and to set the mood!

And the cuteness extended around the corner in another room...

a child's table FULL of cute, adorable paper dolls with fabric outfits that you could buy! I wish I were 8 again! I'd play for hours right there...

Love the color of this vintage iron...

I came home with a yard of fabric and some can't leave without Moda tea towels...

Cute, cute, and NON fattening if you don't MAKE the recipe, right?! He,he!

And the other highlight of my day was spending time in the park ( it was like 72 degrees here in Dallas, TX today!) with my grandbaby Madison and her mommy Megan...
Is this the cutest face you EVER saw or what?!!

Ruby Jane's Retro Fabric store is having a sewing weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Feburary 20 and 21st, where there will be available sewing machines and kits for purchase, free patterns and prizes and giveaways and refreshment. The owner Barbara mentioned some quilt decorated cookies from a fabulous cookie shop! I'm hoping to attend, if you live nearby Garland, TX and would like to go to, please leave that in a comment so I can make sure to meet you! What fun!
Blessings and have a great weekend!

Valentine Touches

Are you feeling the sweetness of Valentine's Day approaching at your home?
I am!
As usual, I almost always begin any holiday themed decorating at my fireplace, and this LOVE holiday is no exception!

I made this L-O-V-E garland last year and still adore it. It was waiting like a sweet gift in a drawer of my hutch. Oh, it lifted my mood to hang it's sweet pinks and reds across the length of my fireplace!

I love to implement my favorite items among the decorations, and shakers with glitter are one of those favorites for sure!

My Bloomer girls sit amongst the handmade cupcakes and strawberries that I bought a while back. This etsy store Crocheted Little Things has similar cupcakes if you want to sweeten up your mantle too!
I, like you, love Mary Englebreit and I gussied up a little Valentine for myself with some pretty glitter to create this...

Isn't she pretty?
My pink milk glass is always in play, whether it's Christmas or Valentine's, pink works any day!

And here's a beau playing sweet with his heart to win his gal's heart, and again it's so much prettier with
GLITTER!

Would you like to create a pretty Valentine's craft too?
Here's just one idea I scoured for and found to bring to you today...

Wool Heart Valentine from Better Homes and Garden's website.
Adorable! Simply precious!
Love and Hugs, and Kisses too on this Wednesday, friends!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Here we are again, my Pink Friends, celebrating a wonderful Saturday with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
I thought I'd share my Lenox Village Canister set with you today. My sister Elinor has had these canisters for as long as I can remember, and I had always loved them, so I decided to purchase my own set off of Ebay, and I love them too!

Of course my favorite one is the PINKEST one...

Also, I am following Twyla and Lindsay's Bella Vintage Valentine postings until Valentine's Day at Two Crazy Crafters and they posted a tutorial for the cutest Valentine tags. I wanted to take just a little pre-Valentine goodie to my girlfriends today at lunch so, I was able to whip up a few tags, and here are my results....
From pink saturday

I wish everyone a warm, pink and sweet weekend!
