Retro Sweetness & Accept the Challenge!

Hi, friends! Just the other day, I found this website One Million Pillowcases and read about the challenge which stated...
Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.

To participate, find a shop hosting One Million Pillowcase Challenge events in your area. Once your pillowcases are complete and donated locally, log on below to enter how many pillowcases you made. Help us reach our goal of ONE MILLION Pillowcases.
What a great idea, a chance to meet other women who enjoy your hobby of sewing and making a difference at the same time!
I quickly looked up the link to my state in Texas and found it linked to this local shop in Garland, TX that I had never known was there! A BONUS!!

And there's a blog too called Ruby Jane's Retro Fabric DOUBLE BONUS!
I ran over today to check out this sweet store and met the owner, Barbara, such a sweet lady!
Her store is hosting a weekend of sewing pillowcases for this challenge and you can read more about it HERE
Her shop is so sweet! This was at the window to greet you..

and the shelves were stocked full of sweet fabrics! OHHHHH!

The retro theme was carried throughout the shop with cute vignettes, so many to photograph!
Tables with adorable vintage style trims...

Boxes stuffed with fat quarters and jelly rolls, oh, imagine the possibilites!

Aprons, aprons everywhere! To buy and to set the mood!

And the cuteness extended around the corner in another room...

a child's table FULL of cute, adorable paper dolls with fabric outfits that you could buy! I wish I were 8 again! I'd play for hours right there...

Love the color of this vintage iron...

I came home with a yard of fabric and some can't leave without Moda tea towels...

Cute, cute, and NON fattening if you don't MAKE the recipe, right?! He,he!

And the other highlight of my day was spending time in the park ( it was like 72 degrees here in Dallas, TX today!) with my grandbaby Madison and her mommy Megan...
Is this the cutest face you EVER saw or what?!!

Ruby Jane's Retro Fabric store is having a sewing weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Feburary 20 and 21st, where there will be available sewing machines and kits for purchase, free patterns and prizes and giveaways and refreshment. The owner Barbara mentioned some quilt decorated cookies from a fabulous cookie shop! I'm hoping to attend, if you live nearby Garland, TX and would like to go to, please leave that in a comment so I can make sure to meet you! What fun!
Blessings and have a great weekend!
