Personalizing

I love accessorizing, personalizing, which can equal a finished project versus one in the works sometimes, right?! Well, this past Christmas I gussied up a few frames and made some easy and personalized gifts!
I wanted to share a finished view of one of my frame sets and then I'll show the steps, easy breezy!
I began with a nondescript frame set from Kohl's Department store, you know the kind, where it shows different ways to place them as a grouping on the wall. It was a black frame with white mats and just a plain frame on the smaller ones, and I turned it from plain into special like this...

I always like to add bling and glitter...

And here's another frame...

And one I did of my son this afternoon...

It's easy, breezy!!
Step One: Choose your scrapbook papers for your mats. I also used fabric on one of the frames that had a board insert...

Step Two: Choose your glue for gluing down papers. My FAVORITE glue has officially became this one...

It's thick and covers very well, I'm using this for more than glittering!
Step Three: Trace out your mat edges one side at a time and cut out and cover your mat with the scrapbook paper...

Step Four: Make sure to use your (Martha Stewart) bone folder to get those edges sealed nice and tight...

Nothing worse than your papers creeping up after a few weeks in the frame!
Step Five: Use your scrapbook aisle at your craft store to find ready-made frame packets like these...

that simply can be trimmed to size for the smaller frame and voila! PRETTY!

Happy Presents...
