Hi, friends! It's another beautiful Pink Saturday with our lovely host Beverly at How Sweet the Sound and I have something really special to share today!
I've had this BEAUTIFUL set of vintage 1943 Wedding Day Paper Dolls in a drawer for probably over a year and, honestly, forgot about them!
The reason my eye was caught when I saw them at the flea market was because I collect vintage bride and groom cake toppers and the wedding theme hit me right across the head when I saw the main cardboard picture inside the bag...
Isn't it JUST GORGEOUS! And, yes, there's pink there on one of the bridesmaids!
So I wanted to show you the paper dolls themselves, the little girl who must have had this set wrote their names and "bride" "groomsman" etc on the back of each one...
(Left to right: Charles Miller, the usher/Dick the ring bearer/Lieuteant Roger Williams, the groom/Sue the flower girl/Marilyn the Bride)
And the rest of the wedding party...
(Linda the flower girl/Darlene, the bridesmaid/Lieutenant John Clark, the Best Man)
There is also another bridesmaid, but I used her just the other day in a very special card that is the post below, she seemed perfect right on that card!
I couldn't leave them in their undergarments, oh, my! That would be sacreligous with tomorrow being Sunday and all!
Isn't Marilyn a beautiful blushing Bride?!
Just in case my picture cuts off Marilyn, let's have another look!
And there are SO many clothes! And they're all just fabuously vintage and very brittle too! The names of each person are printed on the little tabs in a sweet cursive too, look close...
Look at that pantsuit! Wow!
And there's even a purse to match the green dress!
Happy Pink Saturday!

Suzie,
ReplyDeleteThese are darling! I love how you pointed out that the names of who the clothing belongs to is written on the tabs. Too sweet! There's even some great Patriotic themes going on with the groom being military. Ahhh...a breath of fresh air from the past!

When I was growing up we all played with paper dolls. I loved them and we would play for hours at a time. They don't seem so popular anymore, but then little girls grow up faster than I did then, Happy Pink Saturday and thanks for a great post. Char
